A computer software setting or preference a user has the option to set. This setting states what the user wants to have automatically happen in the event that another preference is NOT stated or asked for. For example, your computer might have a default setting to open up or "start" Microsoft Internet Explorer whenever an HTML or Web page file is "clicked" on. If you prefer to use Netscape Navigator you can change the default by checking the box which asks when you the application starts. |
