Delphi
A once-large on-line service. However, they tried forming a new service with MCI, which failed, and who can tell what will happen or what it will soon look like? NewsCorp has since sold delphi back to the original creators and new investors. One big change has been to supply members who pay the $3 a month fee with a 10 meg (!) space for a web page, certainly a good deal. The access for creating the web pages is a bit clunky (and to edit them on-line is a nightmare -- or at least it was when I was till a member), but that is a minor problem. To access the list of all delphi users' delphi homepages (and the delphi service itself), press here. Many of the delphi-operated forums are publically available on the web (with ads to pay the costs) as well as via traditional direct access via modem & telnet.
