Screen resolution |
|
The number of picture elements (or "pixels") that can be displayed on the screen. Screen resolution is a function of the monitor and graphics card. Higher resolutions display more information at a smaller size, and also may slow screen performance. Screen resolution is expressed in the number of pixels across the screen by the number of pixels down the screen. Standard VGA has a resolution of 640 x 480, although most modern monitors can display 1024 x 768, and even higher (larger monitors can usually display a higher resolution than smaller ones). |
